Trainer K. Brown advised stewards that subsequently after the geldings poor performance on Saturday night, it was his intentions to spell BETTER THAN MONEY NZ prior to the gelding racing again.

STARLIGHT RAINBOW – Race 5 JOHN BENN MEMORIAL – Port Pirie 14 July 2017

Trainer J. Cufone advised stewards that at the conclusion of tonight’s meeting STARLIGHT RAINBOW would be in the care of trainer P. Butterworth along with MAJOR RAINBOW until the 21st of August as he would be away overseas.

SIR JULIAN- Race 4 2017 PLATINUM AG SERVICES STRATHALBYN PACING CUP – Strathalbyn 12 June 

Trainer Justin Brewin advised stewards that upon returning to his stable SIR JULIAN underwent an endoscopic examination which revealed that SIR JULIAN had a severe throat infection which includes inflamed nasal passages along with puss being excreted within the throat. He was advised to treat the horse over a six day period and consequently Sir Julian will not race for at least 10 – 14 days. Mr. Brewin also intends to get blood tests done and if they were to return any further issues he will advise stewards accordingly.

QUADENTATE – Race 3 MAUGHAN THIEM FORD RANGER PACE – Globe Derby 27 May 2017

Trainer M. Clinton advised stewards that at the conclusion of tonight’s meeting QUADENTATE would be in the care of trainer T. Ryan for up to 4 weeks due to medical reasons that would inhibit him from conducting his training duties.

RITAS SECRET- Race 2 SOUTHERN CROSS TELEVISION 3YO PACE – PORT PIRIE 25 February 2017

Trainer T. Ryan advised after RITAS SECRET’s disappointing performance, the Filly had bloods taken which revealed the horse to be suffering from a liver infection. The horse will now be treated and then spelled prior to returning to training.

MIDAIR MELTDOWN- Race 1 DPR INSURANCE BROKERS  PACE- Globe Derby Park 3 February 2017

Co-trainer A Bain advised after MIDAIR MELTDOWN’S disappointing performance, the gelding underwent some blood tests which revealed the horse to be suffering from a bacterial infection. The horse will now be treated and given a few light days before returning to full work.

Co-trainer A Bain advised after a disappointing performance Bingo Bill was examined by veterinarian in days subsequent to race. Found to have pain in offside front fetlock. Connections are currently considering various forms of treatment prior to resuming racing.

Trainer L. Holberton has advised that in the days following CORA JACCKA’S race start, a veterinary examination revealed the mare to have injured her tendon near the back of her nearside knee.  CORA JACCKA will now be spelled.

DAKOTA FRED – Race 8 Lion Dairy Products Pace – Globe Derby 18 October 2016

Following DAKOTA FRED’S disappointing performance in the above race, Trainer L. Harding advised the gelding has suffered a superficial flexor tendon injury to its offside front leg and will not race for the immediate future.

Following SOME KINDA TACTICS disappointing performance in the above race, Trainer J. Kingston-Mayne advised the gelding appeared to be incubating a virus.  SOME KINDA TACTICS has been treated and will given time to recover before resuming racing.

GO EL CHEAPO – Trial on 23 July  2016

Following GO EL CHEAPO trialling at Globe Derby on 23 July 2016, it was found to have bled from both nostrils.  Acting under Rule 101(3) GO EL CHEAPO has been stood down for 3 months, until a veterinary certificate of fitness is provided and the completion of one re-qualifying trial.

THIRTYTOLIFE – Trial on 29 May 2016

Trainer P. Badenoch advised that following THIRTYTOLIFE trialling at Globe Derby on 29 May 2016 it bled from both nostrils.  As this was THIRTYTOLIFES second exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage, THIRTYTOLIFE has been barred from racing.

MAKE MINE LUCKY – Trial on 29 May 2016

Trainer J. Brewin advised that following MAKE MINE LUCKY disappointing trial performance, the mare was showing signs of tying up and has been treated accordingly.  In addition the mare was found to have corns in its feet which may have caused some tenderness.  These corns have now been removed.

COSMIC COURAGEOUS– Race 1 Globe Derby 9 May 2016

Trainer T. Neilson reported that following the poor performance of COSMIC COURAGEOUS on 9 May 2016, blood test results reported the gelding had low white blood cells and she would freshen the gelding up before racing again.

AMAJORJO – Race 7 – Globe Derby 15 April 2016

Trainer L. Harding advised after AMAJORJO’S second placing at Globe Derby on 15 April 2016, he was concerned with AMAJORJO’S recovery and a subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have fractures in its near side knee.  Whilst a final decision has not been made on AMAJORJO’S racing future, consideration is being given to him being retired from racing.

SIR JULIAN – Race 3 GAWLER at GLOBE DERBY PARK 2 April 2016 

Following SIR JULIAN’S tenth place in the PIKES WINES COUNTRY GRADUATION SERIES (HEAT 4) on 2 April 2016, Trainer J. Brewin reported the gelding to have an injury to its back. The gelding was treated accordingly and is expected to continue on with it’s preparation and race on Saturday 9th April.

HILLTOP SOPHIA – Race 5 Globe Derby 26 March 2016
Following HILLTOP SOPHIA’S seventh placing in the Ubet SA Oaks at Globe Derby on 26 March 2016, the filly was showing signs of soreness.  A  veterinary examination in the following days  revealed the filly to have shin splints.  HILLTOP SOPHIA will be spelled for 4 – 6 weeks

Trainer G. Fuller reported following the event that WHATS EMMA GOT pulled up with an elevated temperature and showing signs of a virus. G. Fuller added that WHATS EMMA GOT has been treated and will be given a freshen up.

COME ON FRANK – Race 2 Globe Derby 22 February 2016

COME ON FRANK cast its nearside front shoe in the above race.  After the race Trainer D. Billinger had some concerns that COME ON FRANK may suffer the effects of racing without one shoe, given his previous hoof problems.

On Wednesday 23 February 2016 D. Billinger advised COME ON FRANK was showing no signs of soreness and had suffered no ill effects from the race and is nominated for the next Globe Derby race meeting on Friday 26 February.

BURITON BAILEY – Race 3 Globe Derby 15 February 2016

Trainer J. Kingston-Mayne advised that following BURITON BAILEY’S poor performance at Globe Derby, blood tests have revealed the gelding to have an elevated muscle enzyme count, indicative of tying up.  J. Kingston-Mayne stated an altered training regime will assist and BURITON BAILEY will continue racing.

VIEWBYTHEROCK  – 23 January 2016

VIEWBYTHEROCK underwent a veterinary inspection after its race at Globe Derby on 23 January 2016.  That revealed the gelding to have swelling to its nearside knee.  Subsequent to that race, VIEWBYTHEROCK underwent a full veterinary examination at University’s Roseworthy campus which revealed the gelding to have a knee injury requiring an extended spell.  VIEWBYTHEROCK will be spelled for 12 months.

WINTERFEEL – Race 3 Globe Derby 30 January 2016

YUKON RIVER – Race 6 Globe Derby 23 January 2016

Trainer Aaron Bain advised that following the disappointing performance of both YUKON RIVER and WINTERFEEL both horses underwent veterinary examinations which failed to reveal any abnormalities.  A. Bain stated he believed a change in the feeding regime of his horses may have resulted in an adverse gut reaction and consequently both horses performed below expectations.  A Bain stated subsequent to both horses poor performances a further adjustment to his feeding and treatment regime had been undertaken with both horses now responding well.

INTIMATELY – Race 7 – Globe Derby 10 October 2015

Trainer Mark Norman advised that following INTIMATELY 5th place at Globe Derby, blood tests were undertaken which revealed the gelding to have an elevated AST count and a low white cell count indicative of recovering from a virus.  Mr. Norman stated INTIMATELY will only undertake light work for the next week before resuming full training.

UP COUNTRY – Race 3 – Globe Derby 18 September 2015

Trainer D. Hill advised Stewards that following UP COUNTRY’S poor performance at Globe Derby on 18 September 2015, the gelding was examined by a Veterinary Surgeon who cleared it of any tendon injury, however did treat its offside knee. D. Hill stated she will continue with UP COUNTRY’S race preparation.

COUNT DOWN LOMBO – Race 1- Globe Derby 12 September 2015

Trainer D. Hill advised Stewards that following COUNT DOWN LOMBO’S poor performance at Globe Derby on 12 September 2015, the gelding was found to have fibre damage at the top of its suspensory and will now be spelled.

MORE THAN A DREAM – Race 6 Globe Derby 20 July 2015.

Trainer R. Maguire advised stewards that blood tests taken from MORE THAN A DREAM after its poor performance at Globe Derby on 20 July 2015 have revealed the gelding to have an elevated muscle enzyme and white blood cell count.  MORE THAN A DREAM will undergo treatment and will trial before returning to the races.

BLACKNTAN – Race 2 Port Pirie 20 June 2015

Trainer J. Hill advised stewards that a veterinary examination of BLACKNTAN in the days subsequent to its poor performance at Port Pirie on 20 June 2015 revealed the gelding to have small tears in the muscle behind the sesamoid bone in both front legs.  On veterinary advice, BLACKNTAN will now be spelled.

Trainer R. McMillan advised that in the days subsequent to BROOOKSIDE FILLY’S race at Globe Derby on 11 July 2015, the mare has shown signs of tying up.  Mr. McMillan stated he will alter his feeding regime for BROOKSIDE FILLY which should assist.

HILLTOP DELIGHT – Race 4 – Nevele R Stud 3YO Pace 2230MS – 8 May 2015

HILLTOP DELIGHT was retired from the above mentioned race after racing roughly and galloping in the first lap.  Trainers representative A. Bain has now advised that HILLTOP DELIGHT underwent a veterinary examination in the days subsequent and it has revealed the gelding to have cartilage damage to both front fetlocks.  HILLTOP DELIGHT is now spelling.

Trainer R. Hryhorec advised that following the poor performance of BIG BAD BAZZA blood test results revealed the gelding to be tying up. R. Hryhorec advised that he will now treat BIG BAD BAZZA and have further tests done before the gelding races again.

Trainer P. Bain advised that following HILLTOP DELIGHT being retired from the above mentioned event it was found that the horse had an abscess on its chest in the vicinity of the breastplate area. P. Bain further advised that the abscess has since burst and the horse will be treated accordingly and trial prior to racing again.
