Harness Racing SA is the peak governing body for the sport in South Australia.
Governed by six directors, Harness Racing SA ensures the highest standards of professionalism within the industry, as well as the wellbeing and welfare of horses and acts as a voice for harness racing across the state.
The South Australian harness racing industry enjoys strong, healthy competition and exciting racing events at its flagship venue Globe Derby Park and 10 country venues that stretch from Whyalla in the state’s mid-north to Mount Gambier in the south-east.
More than 2,000 drivers, trainers, stablehands and owners are the lifeblood of harness racing in South Australia.
Harness Racing SA is led by Chief Executive Officer, Ross Neal, who along with his staff manages operations for the governing body as well as the South Australian Harness Racing Club. Operations are based at 1 Globe Derby Drive, Globe Derby Park in a building immediately adjacent the race track, that was formerly a racing museum.
